Mental health

Brian had slowly been feeling more and more overwhelmed, until he ended up having to take some sick leave from work. He’d been feeling more anxious and even regular social interactions had become difficult for him.

His finances had become a source of anxiety for him too. He was getting by each month, but was struggling. He’d taken out a Lending Stream loan the previous month, but that was just one of a number of repayments.

He contacted anyone he owed money to and requested to move onto a repayment plan. We were happy he did this, as we want Lending Stream to be something that helps people when they need it, not something that causes problems.

We listened and reassured Brian that we could help. We understood the situation with his incomings and outgoings. This meant we were able to agree a long-term arrangement together that was more affordable for Brian’s situation.

We froze the interest on his loan and set up a repayment plan with him. This meant lower monthly repayments and more time to repay his loan. This was recorded on his credit record, which was a lot better than having missed or late repayments recorded.

After speaking to us, Brian was relieved at having agreed something that worked better for him. It was just one step towards an overall improvement in his situation, but reaching out had helped. It was no longer something only he knew about. Reducing the pressure gave him more space to think and figure out what other changes he needed to make in his life.
