How do you become a runner?

Run out the door and you are already a runner. That is the best part. How far you go, how fast you go and how long you run for, have nothing to do with it.

Once round the block with walking breaks in between, a long walk ending in a run, a walk with a ten second sprint or a five kilometer jog, whichever way you do it, it still makes you a runner. And if you have been running for years, know that your tribe is growing and needs you to keep doing what you are doing because that slow chap you just overtook at your enviable, steady, practiced pace – you just motivated him to keep going. Running an average of five minutes a day is meant to make people live more years, so run for your life.
