To Brits, Retirement is a matter of circumstance not choice

Many senior Brits are found to be working past their “twilight age” of retirement, these days. According to Retirement Expert.co.uk, about 1.4 million Brits are working post retirement age and about 72% of them don’t have their retirement schemes planned. This leaves them with the only option of continuing their jobs post retirement age, with the obvious reason being financial circumstances.

Even though it is a rule that employees should retire by 65 [60 for women], it wouldn’t be considered unfair if employers let their senior employees continue with their work post retirement age. This is because most employers view their senior most employees as reliable, experienced, efficient and dutiful.
